MEMORY | REAL ESTATE BROKER

I was raised by a phenomenal woman by the name of Willie Lou Sanders, she and I were all we had until I married at the age of 25. I knew I was adopted and was told by family members my biological mother was Puerto Rican, father unknown. So, with the last name Fuentas on my birth certificate I assumed all my life that was true.

I became a member of Ancestry.com in 2013. In 2018, two people reached out to me and said we were related. However, I didn’t see this message until very recently. I was sitting at my desk and for some reason I decided to log back into my Ancestry account and there were two messages. I responded, waited 24 hours and nothing. I became curious to know more and I researched further to find a private investigator.

I found one and they took my case. The private investigator looked at the facts of my DNA/Ancestry and said my biological mother is Mexican, not Puerto Rican, and my biological father is African American. The two individuals that are linked on my Ancestry account are my half siblings. This made me speechless, and I tried to hold my tears back because I was in the car with my son and didn’t want to alarm him. I asked the investigator to explain how she knew this, which she did in great detail.

The next morning I got a call from Robert, my newly discovered baby brother. After I explained what the PI told me, he said, “OMG,I’ve been looking for you my entire life and I love you.” He also told me that we have another sister. He got her on the phone and I spoke with both my brother and sister for about an hour. This has changed my life forever. My brother and I talk all day, every day, and we tell each other how much we love one other. Our other biological sister does not want to be revealed at this time.

Last night I met my brother, nieces, and nephews for the first time. It was like I gave birth all over again, lol. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my days here on earth with my newfound family. My kids and I are so excited. I love you Robert Moore.

I hope my story gives someone hope.

Love this story. I’ve know my friend Memory for a long time and I am soo happy she has gotten in touch with her biological family. I tell you I have many sisters and brothers and there is nothing like it! She deserves to know them as they deserve to know her. She’s a great person. ❤️
